Judging by our exclusive photo above, it looks like things are still going strong for cowgirls Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Paige (Lindsey Shaw) as they happily dance the night away. THR has learned that How I Met Your Mother actress Cobie Smulders has joined ABC’s Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. after working out a deal with producer ABC Studios and Marvel Television. The actress will reprise her role as “Agent Maria Hill” from Whedon’s The Avengers film. Here’s more from the site: Smulders is so far set for a one-off cameo role in the pilot because she’s contractually committed to CBS’ How I Met Your Mother, though the actress could return for another similar spot in the future. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 8pm.

Comic Con is in full swing this weekend, with just about every new and returning show vying for a spot on your TV this Fall. If you weren’t lucky enough to make it to San Diego for a live action experience, you may be interested in checking out some panels which aired yesterday for CBS’ midseason drama Intelligence, NBC’s promising The Blacklist, as well as returning favorites from NBC and the CW, Hannibal and Beauty and the Beast. The Intelligence panel features stars Josh Holloway, Marg Helgenberger, and Meghan Ory – who stated yesterday that her role on the show does not preclude a reappearance on ABC’s Once Upon a Time. As Ory noted, Red didn’t die, so a return for her character is very possible. The Blacklist has been receiving very positive pilot reviews from most critics (catch ours here if you missed it). Yesterday’s panel saw stars James Spader and Megan Boone in attendance, along with the show’s three executive producer John Fox, Jon Bokenkamp and John Davis....

AV Club report s that Jay-Z has now officially become Jay Z, dropping the hyphen that’s been riding shotgun with him on his journey from the streets of Brooklyn to the Iron Throne of the entertainment business. The rapper was first listed as “Jay Z” in the liner notes for 2011’s Watch The Throne, but the change hadn’t become publicized until only recently, when his name was officially changed on iTunes, which gained notice when his sales began popping up on Billboard under the new punctuation. The publication received official confirmation of the change directly from the rapper’s label. So I suppose you’re now free to call him Mr. Z. As for all the others who never spelled it with a hyphen because they just didn’t realize the name had one, carry on.

Uhoh. Looks like the rumors were true. A major death is headed to True Blood sooner than you think. The death is reportedly so surprising, it will change the tone of the show forever. Spoilers: All season long there have been rumors that a major character was being killed off of the show. Rumors began that True Blood favorite Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) would be meeting the true death. It doesn’t look like that will be the case. However, this is HBO. After what they did to Jimmy on Boardwalk Empire, I trust no one. Summer cop dramas aren’t exactly in short supply these days, and ABC isn’t looking to change that any time soon. TVLine is reporting that the network has given a fifth season renewal to Rookie Blue. The Canadian import, starring Missy Peregrym and Gregory Smith, will air season five next summer. The current season airs on Thursdays at 10/9c on ABC.
