Nikita Season 4 Spoilers: Showrunner Tease “Bittersweet” Ending, Nikita’s History and More
“It’s bittersweet. I’m just glad we’re able to end it and bring it to a full close. Knowing that it’s going to finish lets us finish it with a period — hopefully an exclamation mark,” showrunner Craig Silverstein told the press during the recent Comic Con event.
Further along, Silverstein has teased the following events fans of Nikita must look forward to in the fourth and final season. Read the spoilers below:
The abbreviated run will accelerate the pace of Nikita‘s storytelling, said Silverstein. “What it means is you get right to the good stuff. [Most seasons] end with things happening one after the other, [but] that’s how we’re going to start this season.”
Silverstein and company hinted at the return of some familiar faces as Nikita heads into its final run. “We’d like to get Ramon back,” he said, later noting the possibility of a Xander Berkeley return via flashback. Fan favorite Devon Sawa, who plays Division operative Owen/Sam, will be back in the first episode of Season 4. “He comes back into the fold,” said Silverstein. “Owen’s a wild card, Sam’s even more so. There’s no reason for him to be with them except he still wants revenge against Amanda for turning him into a dope for 10 years. There are certain things that bring him back into the team. He’s a very volatile element to have along.”
The conclusion of Nikita will also dive more into the eponymous heroine’s past and the onetime mentor who lured her into Division. “There is some return to her origins before Division, before Carla Bennett, some stuff we haven’t seen before,” teased Silverstein. The show will explore Nikita’s early abandonment issues that laid the foundation for her indoctrination as a Division agent. “What was she like?” he said. “Where did this all start for her? Was it somewhere before division? It’s not going to be a greatest hits tour of things we did in Season 1 or 2.”
