True Blood Spoiler: Major Death Will Change The Show

Uhoh. Looks like the rumors were true. A major death is headed to True Blood sooner than you think. The death is reportedly so surprising, it will change the tone of the show forever. Spoilers:

All season long there have been rumors that a major character was being killed off of the show. Rumors began that True Blood favorite Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) would be meeting the true death. It doesn’t look like that will be the case. However, this is HBO. After what they did to Jimmy on Boardwalk Empire, I trust no one.

Michael McMillian recently did an interview with HollywoodLife where he revealed his surprise at the character leaving the show.

“I obviously can’t say who it is, but I was definitely surprised when I found out,” Michael admitted, adding that the shocking death “changes the tone of the show” entirely.
Ever since showrunner Brian Buckner revealed that “one of the principal characters will not make it all the way through the season,” fans have speculated which vampire will meet his (or her) true death. That is, if it’s a vampire at all.

I’ve also heard from sources that the table read from the episode had the rest of the cast in tears. This is making me a little nervous.

However, judging from the press release for the episode afterwards, Eric is safe:

Eric (Alexander SkarsgĂ„rd) makes a last-ditch effort to save an ailing Nora (Lucy Griffiths). A tragedy close to home forces Sam (Sam Trammell) to ignore Alcide’s (Joe Manganiello) warning and return to Bon Temps. Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) shows her gratitude to James (Luke Grimes), a fellow incarcerated vamp, while an emboldened Sarah (Anna Camp) exacts a measure of revenge on Jason (Ryan Kwanten).

If I had to place money on it, I would say Lafayette is toast. Just judging from the fact he’s had nothing to do this season and his character was killing Sookie last week. That would be just horrible. He’s the best one on the show. If Sam is coming back to town, perhaps Terry followed through with his threat? But I don’t consider his major enough to count here. Could be Tara? I know fans think Pam is in danger but I don’t think Sam would care.
