‘The Simpsons’ To Air LEGO Episode, Release New Memorabilia
Timed almost perfectly with the success of The LEGO Movie comes news that The Simpsons will be dipping a toe into the world of LEGO themselves.
FOX has confirmed that The Simpsons will air an all-LEGO episode in May, tying in with the release of a LEGO playset of the animated family’s iconic house. And that’s not all, as a bunch of other toy tie-ins will be hitting shelves soon, all in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of The Simpsons. In addition to LEGO, 20th Century Fox has paired with Mattel, NECA, and other toy manufacturers to create a new line of memorabilia, including the new LEGO playset, a Homer Simpson Mr. Potato Head, a pair of new Simpsons-inspired Hot Wheels cars along with a Hornby Scalextric Simpsons-branded Grand Prix racing set, Springfield residents Commonwealth plush dolls, Gemmy inflatables and NECA collectible action figures.
In short, 2014 is shaping up to be The Year of The Simpsons.
