Queen Latifah To Sing ‘America the Beautiful’ On Super Bowl XLVIII Pregame Show

The Super Bowl XLVIII pregame show just got a bit more star-studded.
Queen Latifah will be singing “America the Beautiful” during the festivities, marking the second time in four years that the Oscar nominated singer-actress has performed the song at the big game. However, this is a huge coup for Latifah — who only just last night married 33 couples at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards — the big honor of singing the National Anthem actually belongs to opera singer Renee Fleming this year. Alongside Fleming, Amber Zion will perform the National Anthem in American Sign Language.

Latifah and Fleming join a pair of high-profile musical guests for Sunday’s game, as Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show.
Super Bowl XLVIII festivities begin Sunday at 3:30 p.m. live on FOX.
